Just 12 Seats: Inside RBI’s Young Professional Recruitment 2026
RBI's Young Professional Recruitment 2026 sought 12 contract specialists across six domains, with applications closing 6 July 2026 and interviews tentatively in August.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) opened its Young Professional (YP) Recruitment 2026, advertised under Advt. No. RBI/2026-27/01, for just 12 posts — applications were accepted online at rbi.org.in from 15 June 2026 through 6 July 2026.
The 12 posts are spread across six domains, each with its own qualification bar: 3 posts in Finance/Fintech (MBA Finance, CA or CFA), 2 in Data Science/Analytics (B.Tech/M.Tech CS/IT or M.Sc Statistics), 2 in Economics/Research (MA/M.Sc Economics or PhD), 2 in Legal/Regulation (LLB/LLM), 2 in Cybersecurity/IT (B.Tech/M.Tech CS/IT/Cybersecurity), and 1 in Communications/Media (MBA Marketing or Mass Communication).
Eligible candidates needed to be 25 to 35 years old as on the notified cut-off, with the standard age relaxation — 3 years for OBC non-creamy layer, 5 years for SC/ST, 10 years for PwBD. General/OBC/EWS candidates paid a notified application fee, while SC/ST/PwBD applicants were exempt entirely.
RBI runs a four-stage selection: application screening, a domain-specific written test or online assessment, a personal interview conducted by an RBI panel, and document verification alongside a medical fitness check, with the final merit list built on cumulative performance across all stages.
Selected Young Professionals join on a one-year contract, extendable based on performance, drawing a consolidated stipend plus HRA or accommodation support depending on where they’re posted, along with access to RBI’s research resources, direct exposure to senior economists and regulators, and a service certificate at the end of the term.
The written test and interview round is tentatively planned for August 2026, with results expected in September and onboarding in October — RBI has said its own timeline could shift, so candidates are told to track rbi.org.in for confirmation.
