Rs 2,699 CEYE bullet camera review: solid value, but the zoom and app have limits
A review found the Consistent CEYE Series Wi-Fi bullet camera offers solid value at Rs 2,699, though its digital zoom and app interface fall short of premium alternatives.
The Consistent 3MP Smart Wi-Fi Bullet Camera CEYE Series strikes a good balance between features and affordability, according to a review by TOI Tech Desk. At Rs 2,699, the camera, model CT-CM-BW3M, offers capabilities usually found on more expensive outdoor security cameras, including 3MP Full HD recording, all-time colour night vision, IP66 weather resistance, human detection, two-way audio, Alexa support, cloud recording and support for microSD cards up to 256GB.
The review found the installation process straightforward, the CEYE app easy to use, and the day-to-day experience largely hassle-free. Features such as sharp daytime footage, colour night recording, human-only detection alerts, two-way audio and weather resistance made it a practical option for monitoring homes, offices, shops or parking areas.
That said, the review flagged some limitations. The 10x digital zoom is useful only to an extent, since image quality drops when zooming in significantly. The two-way audio works well for basic conversations but is not as loud or clear as a dedicated video doorbell, and the app could benefit from a more polished interface and additional smart AI options increasingly common on premium security cameras.
Even with these compromises, the review said they were relatively small considerations given the price. For buyers looking for an affordable outdoor Wi-Fi security camera that covers the essentials without a large investment, the camera was found to deliver solid value, with reliable monitoring, timely alerts and useful smart features in an easy-to-install package.
Home security cameras have become one of the fastest-growing smart home categories in India, driven by falling prices, better internet connectivity and a growing need to monitor homes, offices and shops remotely.
