3km from a new airport, this park wants to remake India’s medical devices

The medical device park coming up in Sector 28 of the YEIDA region has allotted 120 industrial plots, with over 20 companies already building manufacturing units, officials said.

A new industrial park just 3km from the upcoming Noida International Airport is being positioned as north India’s answer to medical device manufacturing gaps. The 350-acre site, coming up in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, has already allotted 120 industrial plots, YEIDA additional CEO Shailendra Bhatia told an investors’ meet at India Expo Mart on Thursday.

More than 20 companies have already begun construction of their manufacturing units at the site, according to Bhatia, who described the project as a ‘major manufacturing hub’ designed to give the region a complete, end-to-end MedTech ecosystem.

The airport link is central to the site’s pitch, positioning manufacturers there to reach both domestic and export markets once air connectivity to the region improves.

Shared infrastructure is another draw: the park will provide common scientific and infrastructural services on-site, including rapid prototyping, artificial intelligence laboratories and a shared warehouse, which Bhatia said would lower production costs and speed up product development. IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, Invest UP and the Export Promotion Council are also lending academic and institutional support to the project.

Companies setting up units at the park can access incentives including a capital interest subsidy, stamp duty exemption, skill development support, quality certification assistance and marketing support, Bhatia said.

So far, investor interest has come from firms working in radiology and imaging, implants, in-vitro diagnostics, anaesthesia and respiratory devices, and cardiology and cancer care.
